How to Throw
There are a lot of fun throws in Ultimate. Scoobers, Hammers, Thumbers, The Grapevine, The Goulet, Chicken Wings, Push Passes, and more. However, mastering your forehand and backhand will prove much more useful. Though far less flashy, they result in far fewer turnovers, and what's more flashy than maintaining possession?
How to Handle
Offenses thrive based on the competence of their handlers. Patience and smart decision making will be the backbone of your favorite handlers. The first step to becoming a reliable handler is learning to throw against a little pressure from your defender. This video walks through how to put yourself in the right mindset to overcome your average defender.
How to Play Defense
Once you've identified which of your opponents you're responsible for guarding, your goal is to prevent them from getting the disc. Once they have the disc, you're responsible for making their throws more difficult. Positioning yourself properly to prevent easy downfield progress is the first step to being an effective defender.
